We read 210 reviews of clinic software
Sovica team Research
We wanted to know what makes clinic owners give up on their software. So we read about 210 public reviews of 11 clinic and spa systems on Trustpilot and GetApp, and counted each complaint once per problem. We are not naming the products: this is about the problems, not a scorecard.
Clinics don’t leave over features
- Support that cannot be reached, is slow, has no phone line or works in the wrong time zone: 42 reviews across 10 products.
- Outages, lost or duplicated data and broken features: 27 reviews.
- Opaque pricing, hidden fees and unexpected charges: 27 reviews.
- Painful onboarding or moving data over: 21 reviews.
- Contracts that lock clinics in, renew on their own or keep billing after they leave: 17 reviews.
The top four alone add up to 117 complaints, and none of them is about a missing feature. They are about whether the company behind the software shows up when something breaks, charges what it said, and helps the clinic move in and out.
What owners praise
The praise mirrors the complaints. The most common was for a named, reachable person in support (27 reviews, many of them invited by the vendor). After that came a vendor who moved the data and got the clinic live fast (11), one system instead of many (10), and software new staff can learn easily (10).
What this sample can and cannot tell you
- It covers Trustpilot and GetApp only. G2 and Capterra pages did not load for us, and we did not read Reddit or owner groups.
- It is market-wide: med spas, aesthetic clinics, salons, therapy and medical practices together, not one kind of clinic.
- Many positive reviews were invited by a vendor after onboarding, so they say more about setup than daily use.
- Treat the counts as a ranking of themes, not a measure of how often things go wrong.
What we are doing with it
These counts shape what we build and what we promise: a human who picks up, public prices, a move done for you, and no lock-in.
