Chief Operating Officer

Run everything between what we build and the clinics that rely on it

Location

London [Hybrid]

Compensation

Sovica is clinic intelligence that follows through. Built for the small teams holding clinics together by hand, it keeps one record on every patient, works out what has to happen next, does it, and sends the rest to a named person, with the reason. We’ve raised [$000M] from some of the world’s best investors: [Backer], [Backer], [Backer], [Backer] and [Backer].

We hire people who want the hard problems: the referral nobody booked, the note still open at 9 pm, the clinic owner who can’t get a human on the phone. We hold a high bar and care about the front desks, practitioners and patients on the other side of the screen.

If you want to do the best work of your career, this is the right place.

About the role

Sovica is built by one technical founder and a pipeline of agents. The build moves fast. Everything around it waits for the founder: we have no paying customers yet, no support line and no insurer connections. Every hour he spends on those, the product stands still. Every hour on the product is a clinic nobody called.

That second half decides this company. In reviews of the systems clinics use today, support is the top complaint, at 42 reviews, ahead of reliability and surprise fees at 27 each. Clinics leave when nobody picks up mid-clinic.

We’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer to take the company off the founder’s desk: move our first aesthetic clinics across, answer when they call, find out whether clinics will switch or just add, and own compliance, insurers, contracts, finance and hiring. This is a rare chance to build a company’s operations from zero, with agents doing the first draft.

This is hands-on, with founder-level scope. You’ll be on the calls and inside the exports. Product, agents and architecture stay with the founder.

What you’ll do

First clinics: Sign them, then move patients, notes, photos, forms and future bookings across with nothing lost.

Human support: Be the person who answers, in minutes, then write the playbook our agents and first hires work from.

Switch or add: Ask clinics what they did when they last changed systems, and bring back the answer that decides how we enter the market.

Compliance: Own CQC and ICO in the UK and HIPAA in the US, and get a clear answer on our medical device status.

Insurers and vendors: Open the Healthcode and Bupa connections, and every vendor relationship that code can’t.

Pricing and contracts: Set what we charge, prove it pays for human support and free moves, and write the contracts clinics sign.

Finance and hiring: Run the books and the cash, and hire the first people the company needs.

Your first 90 days

  • Walk the top ten claims on our site in the live product and mark each one true or false

  • Finish 15 to 20 interviews with clinics that bought or switched in the last 18 months

  • Import two real clinic exports complete, photos included

  • Put 3 to 5 aesthetic clinics on a hands-on pilot, with support hours logged per clinic

  • Map every regulatory duty in the UK and US, with an owner, a date and counsel’s view

Your first year

  • Paying aesthetic clinics, each moved and live in about two weeks

  • Support answered by a human in minutes, at under two hours per clinic per month after day 60

  • A margin above 70% with that support and those moves included

  • UK duties met, Healthcode and Bupa connected, and US agreements signed before the first US patient message

  • A founder whose week is product, agents and architecture, with no customer, regulator or invoice waiting on him

What you’ll bring

Operating experience: 7+ years running operations, ideally as an early COO, GM or founder.

Done it yourself: You’ve onboarded customers and taken the angry call, not only managed the people who do.

Regulated judgement: You’ve worked with regulators and counsel, and you know what you don’t know.

Commercial and financial depth: You can price, negotiate and read your own numbers.

Agent fluency: You’d rather have an agent draft the process and check it than hire to write it.

Builder mindset: No team, no process and no customers sounds like the job, and you’ll tell a technical founder when he’s wrong.
