Create an API key
Give another system controlled access to your data.
An API key lets your own software call Sovica. Go to Setup and open API Keys. This opens the APIs & Webhooks page, where you click New API Key.
Create the key
Add a Description, for example the name of the system using it.
Under What permissions should this API key have?, tick Read, Create, Update or Delete for each Resource. Grant only what the system needs.
Save the key.
Use the key
Open the key and go to Auth to copy the Client ID and Access Token. Keep them out of shared documents and code repositories.
Monitor and rotate
Logs lists each call with its endpoint, method and status. API Usage on the main page shows calls made today, and counts reset at midnight. If a token may have leaked, rotate it from Auth, then update the system that uses it.
