Assign tax to a product
Choose the tax rate or tax group a product uses, so the till and tax reports stay right.

Open the product from Products and go to the Pricing tab.
Pick a rate or group under Default tax rate.
Click Save.
The rate applies from the next sale. You can set it on many products at once with Bulk actions and Tax rate, or on a whole category with its Tax field.
Why tax didn't increase the total
Sovica can treat prices as tax-inclusive. If so, the tax is shown as part of the price instead of being added on top. Your setting is in your tax setup under Setup.
