Record allergies
Keep allergy information visible to the whole team.
Allergies recorded here are flagged across prescriptions, charts and treatment notes. Open the EMR tab, click Allergies, then click Add Allergy. You can also use the + beside ALLERGIES on the Fact Sheet.
Choose the type
Specific Drug allergy: a confirmed reaction to a particular medication.
Non-Drug allergy: food, environmental or other allergens.
No Known Drug Allergies (NKDA): confirms you have asked and the patient has none.
Save it
Fill in the details, link a visit under APPOINTMENT if it helps, and click Add Allergy. Use Save and add another when you have several to enter.
From forms
When a patient answers an allergy question on a form, the answer can be added to this list automatically once the form is saved. Review new entries and fill in any missing details.
