How merge tags work

Use placeholders that fill in each patient's name, appointment and clinic details when a message sends.

Table of Contents

A merge tag is a placeholder that becomes real details when the message goes out. "Hi {first name}" arrives as "Hi Sarah".

Where they work

Emails, texts, letters, reminders, campaigns and workflows.

Tips

  • Preview with sample details to check the sentence reads well.

  • A blank field leaves a gap, so keep sentences readable without it.

  • In texts, long values add length and can cost an extra credit.
